Nessa > Misty

Author’s Note: This is a copy/paste of one of my articles from a Pokémon Disqus channel, which has been experiencing a lack of activity even before all other channels are confirmed to be shut down by September 1st. This was written to be semi-serious, and I still stand by my points to this day. Hope you get a good chuckle.

Pokémon Sword & Shield’s E3 demo has introduced us to a new Water gym leader, and for the first time since Misty, it’s a female named Nessa. And hot dang does she look better than her in every way possible, so allow me to explain why.

While it’s true that hardcore fans developed a crush on Misty during the Pokemania crazy in the late 90’s. Her swimsuit from the original RB and her midriff tank top from the anime was what made those kids fall for her. There was one problem: she’s canonically 10 years old (or 11 in the games). As the fans grew older, it becomes rather creepy for them to continue their love for Misty she has yet to have a canon adult form (we’ve only got a canon teen form from Gen II, which is still creepy no matter how you slice it). Nessa, on the other hand, is a full grown woman who wears a similar getup as Misty. In other words, she was a blessing for us adult Pokémon fans.

And here I thought Game Freak wouldn’t top over Olivia.

Just your average guy who enjoys playing video games and surfing the web. I'm currently getting a job at substitute teaching.

Just so you know, on WordPress it’s really easy to backdate articles. I understand you guys are in the process of migrating some content from your old discus site, the backdating allows you to keep all your archives as they were and you won’t need to leave a disclaimer on your posts.
